A Cob and a Connie; Challenging conventional norms, Strengthening self belief and Cultivating confidence
(And if we dont - just ask! We'll produce it!)
My name is Sarah Vousden and I am the founder of A Cob and a Connie.
I have 40 + years of equestrian experience that I'd love to share with you in order to help others to achieve the dreams and goals that they've always aspired to. Like all of us, Ive had some horses over the years that have knocked my confidence, taught me how to adapt and learn how to help them in different scenarios and challenged my thought processes on how to deal with certain situations.
Whilst I enjoy my competing and have taken my unconventional dressage horses to PSG and Inter 1 and also stood Reserve National Champion at Working Equitation in my first competitive year, I have also learnt over the years that just having a good relationship with your horse is as important, if not more so, than the results that you may achieve.
Pulling from a wide source of groundwork and horsemanship skills I have discovered in order to progress with my horses, alongside my classically learnt schooling techniques gives me the confidence to challenge some of the conventional norms in the equestrian world and believe in myself and my horses to the full.
I truly believe that with the right attitude, backing and processes, everyone can achieve what they are dreaming of on any horse. The possibilities are endless.

About your Author:
Sarah's journey in the equestrian world is truly inspiring. Transitioning from a corporate agriculture career to pursue her lifelong passion for horses demonstrates her courage and commitment to living authentically.
Whilst achieving considerable personal success, she has also become a beacon of inspiration for others. Her achievements in dressage and working equitation showcases her dedication and skill. Taking her 2 native type horses to PSG / Inter 1 at dressage and becoming Reserve National champion at Working Equitation, a sport known for the Iberian rather than the native, show her willingness to challenge conventional norms within the equestrian world.
What sets Sarah apart is her desire to empower others. She actively encourages people to explore their potential and push beyond their comfort zones. This generosity of spirit reflects her true passion for the equestrian community.
Sarah's story reminds us that success is not just about personal achievements but also about inspiring and supporting others along the way. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and the unwavering belief in oneself..
Thanks to my previous customers for their lovely reviews:
Great session this morning with Sarah at Kingswood Equestrian. Starting right at the beginning with two baby horses, Sarah gave us a great intro to WE and read our horses immediately. Thank you Sarah
